We are pleased to announce the new Let’s Stay Connected Fund, designed to support projects that encourage social connection during the coronavirus pandemic and beyond.

The fund will enable groups across regional Victoria and throughout Melbourne to apply for grants of between $5,000 - $200,000 to support innovative, initiatives that could potentially help community groups continue to operate by adapting the way they deliver programs or events - including through online forums.

The fund will provide much needed support to communities across the state.

We seem to get excited a lot at the Alex Theatre even in a time of COVID, however, we are even more excited than normal as three of our worlds collide on stage.
• Film making
• Technology, and
• Theatre making

We welcome Phil and his team from Pro Screens, and those collaborating locally and interstate on the creation of the first XR test stage within the Alex Theatre project.

Stage 1: Build a wall
Stage 2: Create an environment
Stage 3: Point a camera at the wall and shoot stuff with an actor in between…

Ok, I did say ‘XR test stage’, there is a load more to this, and that is why we are in this collaborative group of creative minds as we want to find out what is involved and then share this with you.
