In light of recent government restrictions aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19, our upcoming Australian performances of Thrones! have been cancelled.

We considered postponing the production once again, however, with the COVID-19 situation evolving on a daily basis and the well-being of our audiences, staff, and communities must remain our priority we couldn’t guaranty a performance date in the future wouldn’t be affected again.

All patrons who booked tickets will be emailed shortly.

Our hearts are with the cast and promoter at this time as cancelling a show is never easy.

VFX and LED Screen testing as part of The Red Brick Wall project that is researching innovative ways to support the creative arts through the Alex Theatre in St Kilda.

We at the Alex Theatre are supporting LORNE FILM in raising equity investment for its exciting new feature film project, ‘MAGPIE.’

The story grapples with the complex yet universal issues surrounding people unable to engage with their fellow humankind during a global lockdown. MAGPIE delivers a powerful message around our need for connection – and that in the end it is loving and being loved – that will save us.

A supernatural cyber/thriller/romance where Wuthering Heights meets The Ring – MAGPIE is a tale of grief, love, and hope that asks if the only way forward is to stop looking back – and if the very thing we fear is what will ultimately save us.
